The Annual Catalog Pre-Order is my favorite theme for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop! We, as demonstrators, get to pre-order items from the up-coming catalog and give sneak peeks of what’s to come.
Today, I am sharing a sneak peek of the Hand-Penned Petals stamp set. I love this set and I think you are really going to like it too!

I happened to need a sympathy card, and since the lines of the flowers have such a soft feel to them, it makes it perfect for such an occasion.

The Colors
The designer series paper (DSP), Hand-Penned, has a great mix of colors and is gorgeous. The coordinating colors are below (except for the new In-Color, Pale Papaya).
To make this card
- Begin with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Highland Heather cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
- Cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and lay it on your card base, but do not adhere yet.
- Place a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Hand-Penned designer series paper (DSP) on your Stampin’ Trimmer, with the bottom right corner lined up diagonally. (the bottom right corner should be at the top and the top left corner should be at the bottom) Cut to the 2 1/2″ mark only. Â

- Carefully fold the corners back and secure with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.  Â

- Lay the DSP on top of the Basic White piece and carefully stamp the sentiment in the bottom right corner, using Highland Heather ink.Â
- Adhere the Basic White piece to the card base and the DSP on top of it using Stampin’ SEAL. (hint- Always stamp first before adhering your layers together. This will allow you to change out the layer in case your image doesn’t stamp well.)
- Crop a piece of Highland Heather cardstock with a Tasteful Labels die using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and adhere to the center of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.     Â

- Stamp your flower on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Memento black ink and color with the following Stampin’ Blends: Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, and Pool Party. (hint- use Pool Party to color your leaves first, then color them with Granny Apple Green for a unique shade of green)
- Crop the flower out with the Penned Flowers dies and adhere to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Tie a 7″ piece of Gorgeous Grape sheer ribbon into a small bow, trim the ends, and secure to the card with a Glue Dot.
- Attach three Pastel Pearls as shown.
