A Color Combo Challenge with Flowers of Beauty

I have a fun color combo challenge card for you today, made with the stamp bundle Flowers of Beauty.

Each month past Artisan Design Team members are challenged to come up with a themed-based card for Stampin’ Fancy Friday, and this month, we were given a color challenge. We were to create a color combo inspired from the Annual Catalog, something we see in fashion or home decor, an advertisement, etc. I was inspired from a calendar that hangs by my computer.

I mimicked the flowers around the border of it, consisting of the colors Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Fresh Freesia, and Mossy Meadow, all on a background of Basic Beige.

The card was created with the Flowers of Beauty and Unbounded Love bundles.

In addition to those stamp bundles, I used the Birch Wood embossing folder (available 9/4/24), and some metal bling from the Textured Metallic Specialty paper, Metallic Enamel Effects, and some Metallic Gems.

To make the card

  • Begin with a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of Basic Beige cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4” to form you card base.
  • Sandwich a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Basic Beige in the Birch Wood embossing folder and run through your Cut & Emboss machine. (available 9/4/24)
  • Color the embossed piece with your Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink.

  • On a piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp three large flowers in Fresh Freesia ink, and two small flowers in Daffodil Delight ink and Flirty Flamingo ink. (Hint- when stamping the background of the flower, stamp off first so that the color is lighter.)
  • Stamp your sentiment on a piece of Basic Beige cardstock using Mossy Meadow ink.
  • Using your Cut & Emboss machine and the Flowers of Beauty and Unbounded Love dies, crop the following; your stamped images, your sentiment, the sentiment frame and two medium leaf sprays in Mossy Meadow cardstock, a large leaf spray in Flirty Flamingo cardstock, and  four single leaf sprays in Textured Metallic Specialty paper.

Assemble the card

  • Adhere the Flirty Flamingo die cut to the embossed piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then adhere the Mossy Meadow and Textured Metallic die cuts on top.
  • Place some Dimensionals on the back of your sentiment and sentiment frame, so that they hold the two pieces together, and attach to the bottom-right corner of the embossed piece.
  • Adhere the flowers to the piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Apply some more Dimensionals to the back of the embossed piece and adhere it to the card base.
  • Attach three Adhesive-Backed Metallic Gems as shown. Then, add some Metallic Enamel Effects to the center of the large flowers.
