A Gold-Embellished Batik Boutique Hello

I just love when a card has a little sparkle, and the Gold-Embellished Batik Boutique Hello card does just that. It’s adorned with some Gilded Leafing and elements from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera pack.

The gold elements really go well with the soft coloring of Pale Papaya and Soft succulent too. Throw a little Soft Suede in there, and you have the perfect combination.

To make the card

• Begin with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Soft Suede cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
• Adhere a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Gold Foil paper to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL.
• Cut t wo pieces of Pale Papaya cardstock; one measuring 2 1/2″ x 5″ and one measuring 1 1/2″ x 5″ using your Paper Trimmer.
• Sandwich the larger piece of Pale Papaya cardstock in the Pretty Florals embossing folder, run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. and adhere to the right side of the card (lining up with the gold layer) using Stampin’ SEAL.
• Adhere a piece of Paper Lattice to the smaller Pale Papaya piece and trim off the excess.  Adding adhesive to the Paper Lattice is best done using your Silicone Craft Sheet. Do this by laying the pieces upside down on your Silicone Craft Sheet, add some glue to the sheet (up in the corner and out of the way), dab a sponge into the glue, and lightly tap some glue on to the petal pieces. (Hint- this will ensure that your small pieces have glue on them, and you will not have to worry about globs of glue oozing out from the lattice.) Once the glue is dry on your sheet, simply rub it off with your hand.

• Cut a small strip of Soft Suede cardstock measuring 1/2″ x 5″ and adhere behind the piece with the lattice, allowing about 1/4″ to show on the right side.
• Adhere the lattice piece to the card, being sure to line it up with the gold foil on the left, using Stampin’ SEAL.

Time to stamp

• Stamp your flowers on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Memento black ink. Color with your Evening Evergreen, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends.
• Stamp over the large flower again with the detailed stamp using Versamark ink. Heat emboss some Heat & Stick Powder on it, press some Gilded Leafing into it, and remove the excess.
• Using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine, crop the flowers with the batik dies and crop one large and one small label from the Hippo and Friends dies in Soft Suede.
• Stamp your sentiment on the small label using Versamark ink, heat emboss some Heat & Stick Powder on it, press some Gilded Leafing into it, and remove the excess. (Hint- use a small brush to remove the excess Gilded Leafing.)

• Adhere two gold-outlined labels from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack on to the large label using Stampin’ SEAL. (Hint- be sure to only apply adhesive in the area that will be covered by the flowers.)

• Arrange the two small flowers and three more gold pieces from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack on the large label and adhere in place using a Glue Dot. (Hint- if you add Stampin’ Dimensionals (without removing the backs) to the back of the large flower, you can use it as a guide to ensure that the flowers behind it will look right by laying it down to look, then picking it back up again until you get the arrangement the way that you want it.)

• Once you are happy with the arrangement of the small flowers, peel the backs off the Stampin’ Dimensionals on the large flower and adhere it on top.
• Attach the small and large label to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals as shown.
