A Heart Shaped Sale-A-Bration for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Sale-A-Bration. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! The lineup is at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Sale-A-Bration just started yesterday, so it’s the perfect time for us to share inspiration using some of the products.

There are not one, but two Sale-A-Bration items that I have used to make this card. The Heart Shaped bundle and the Toadstool Gardens DSP make a perfect pair!

The Heart Shaped bundle can be earned with any $120 qualifying purchase, and is on page 12 of the Sale-A-Bration brochure. The Toadstool Gardens DSP is on page 8, and can be earned with any $60 qualifying purchase.

To make the card

• Begin with a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of Melon Mambo cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4” to form your card base.
• Layer and adhere a 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” piece of Toadstool Gardens DSP to a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock, and adhere both to the card base.
• Adhere a 3/4” x 2 1/2” piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock to the left of the card, about 3/8” from the bottom of the DSP.

• Layer and adhere another piece of the Toadstool Gardens DSP, measuring 3 1/4” x 3 1/4” to a 3 3/8” x 3 3/8” piece of Melon Mambo cardstock. Attach both to the right side of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

• Stamp your sentiment on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Melon Mambo ink. Crop the sentiment, as well as the following using your Cut & Emboss machine; one heart in Basic White cardstock, one heart in Melon Mambo cardstock, one heart in Pretty in Pink cardstock, two flower sprays, two sets of large leaves, and two sets of small leaves, in Granny Apple Green cardstock.

• Adhere the sentiment to the card so that the “I” lines up with the left edge of your DSP layer and it’s centered on the green strip, using regular adhesive under the right side, and two Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals under the left side.

Time to make the heart

• Stamp your heart image on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Granny Apple Green ink. Repeat the stamping to make your heart thicker. Stamp a little above the original image, a little below it, then a little to each side. You should have a total of five stamp images, slightly overlapping one another. Then, cut the heart out with your Paper Snips.
• Layer and adhere the three hearts on top of the stamped heart image. Offset them slightly like you did the stamped image so that you can see all three layers.

• Lay the hearts on your card, but do not adhere yet. Line up the cropped leaves, so that they don’t hang off the edges of the card, and adhere in place behind the heart. Then, apply some Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the piece and attach to the card.

• Color some Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems with your Granny Apple Green dark Stampin’ Blend and attach to the card as shown.
