A Layers of Beauty Favorite from the new catalog for the Pals Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is our Favorites from the New Catalog. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

The Layers of Beauty stamp bundle is one of my favorite’s from the catalog, so I am sharing it with you today for the blog hop.

Making the flowers on this card was a breeze with the coordinating masks. All it took was a blending brush and a couple of ink pads. Of course you could always color the flowers without the masks with Stampin’ Blends, but the masks are a true time saver.

This fantastic bundle can be found on page 57 of the annual catalog.

To Make the Card

  • Begin with a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of Basic White Thick cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4” to form your card base.
  • Adhere a 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” piece of Nature’s Sweetness Specialty DSP to a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Poppy Parade and adhere both to the card base.

  • Stamp your floral image on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Memento black ink.
  • Tape your stamped image down to your surface using removable tape. Lay the first Layers of Beauty Mask over your image and tape in place with more removable tape.

  • With your Blending Brushes, go over the mask with Pretty in Pink ink. Carefully remove the mask, and tape the 2nd mask in place. Color it with Poppy Parade ink, then remove the mask. Repeat with the 3rd mask.
  • Lay the 4th mask on top, tape in place, and color with Granny Apple Green. Remove the mask and place the 5th mask on top. Color with Old Olive ink and remove the mask.

Time to put it all together

  • Crop your image, as well as, three small and two large leaves in Gold Foil using your Cut & Emboss machine.

  • Place the image on your card, but do not adhere. Use the image as a guide as you apply some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the leaves and set them in place. Once all leaves are on the card, attach the floral image with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp your sentiment on a 3/8” x 3 3/8” piece of Poppy Parade using Versamark ink. Quickly dust it with Gold embossing powder, tap off the excess, and set in place with your Heat Tool.
  • Trim the ends of your sentiment with your Paper Snips and attach to the card using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Attach three Iridescent Adhesive-Backed Discs as shown.
  • As a bonus – Cut a 2 1/2” x 6” piece of Poppy Parade DSP and adhere to the flap of your envelope. Trim the excess off with your Paper Snips.
