Today I am sharing my Meow Mates Hello Kitty Card that I made for a friend.
This sweet card was made for a friend of mine that adopted two kittens not too long ago. Although they have grown a little bit in this picture, they are just the cutest little things! When she shared this picture of them with me, I just knew that the Meow Mates stamp set was the perfect choice to try and capture their likeness.
The layout for this card came from our April Stampin’ Fancy sketch challenge.
The main components of this card were the Meow Mates stamp set, and the Alphabet A La Mode and Spotlight on Nature dies.
The Alphabet A La Mode dies were used to create the words Meow that you see at the top and bottom of the card. I made them the same color as the cardstock layer they sit on so that they didn’t distract from the circled kitty image.
Since the kitties that I wanted to color in the image are close to the edge, I had to take a few extra steps to get them in the middle. Specifically, I had to make a mask of the stamp. You can find detailed instructions on how to do that in the PDF tutorial below.
Once I had the kitties that I wanted in the middle, I colored them with my Stampin’ Blends. I then fussy cut them, and cropped a few layered circles, with the Spotlight on Nature dies.
Since both of the kitties are girls, I had to accent them in pink! A few pink layers here and there, and a pretty girly-girly bow was added to make that happen.
If you would like to make this card, I have a PDF tutorial with detailed photos that can be downloaded. If you’re more of a dog person, you can use the Doggone Friendly stamp set (retired) with the word “woof”. I’m sure it would be just as cute.
