The stamp sets Spotlight on Nature & Lifetime of Love come together for #TGIFC492 Inspiration challenge.
I just love this week’s inspiration challenge! The colors, flowers, and bird were so inspiring to me, that I decided to replicate them.
In order to do that, I had to use three different stamp sets. The bird came from the stamp set Wintry Tree Tops, some of the flowers from Spotlight on Nature, and other flowers from Lifetime of Love.
It was a lot of coloring with my Stampin’ Blends, but I am more than happy with the result.
To make the card
- Begin with a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4” to form your card base.
- Stamp your sentiment in the bottom-right corner of a 3 /8” x 5 1/8” piece of Basic White cardstock using Early Espresso Ink.
- Sandwich the Basic White piece in the Birch Wood embossing folder and run through your Cut & Emboss machine.
- Layer and adhere the embossed piece to a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Early Espresso cardstock, and adhere both to the card base.
- Crop a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock with the large circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies and two leaf bunches in Early Espresso cardstock with the Lifetime of Love dies.
- Adhere the large circle to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp the following on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Memento black ink; one large leaf and two flowers from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set, one bird from the Wintry Tree Tops stamp set, and a medium flower, a small flower, and two flower bunches from the Lifetime of Love stamp set. (Hint- after inking up the bird, wipe the ink off of the rubber with a baby wipe to remove the twig in his mouth before stamping.
Time to color
- Color the images as follows with your Stampin’ Blends; the large leaf with Mossy Meadow and Granny Apple Green, the two large flowers with Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, Peach Pie, and Pumpkin Pie, the bird with Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Basic Black, Calypso Coral, and Medium Deep (SU 300), the small and medium flower with Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Calypso Coral, and Cajun Craze, and the flower bunches with Mossy Meadow, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, and Wild Wheat.
- Fussy cut the large leaf and the two flowers, and crop the rest with the corresponding dies. (Hint- fussy cut a portion of the bird to remove the stem hanging from his mouth.)
- Trim the stems off of the flower and attach them and the large leaf to the card.
- Cut the stem off of one of the flower bunches. Then, adhere the rest of the flowers, bird, and leaf die cuts together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Adhere the piece to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Attach three Pecan Pie Ribboned Adhesive-Backed Dots as shown.
