Hello! I’m Melissa and I live in sunny Arizona, with my husband and our two cats Sophie and Thor. I am originally from a small town in Ohio, a retired nurse, and a US Air Force Veteran.
I have been crafting since I was young, and my grandmother introduced me to sewing and scrapbooking. Although a lot of time has passed since then, my love of paper-crafting has remained strong. In 2003 I discovered Stampin’ UP! while attending a class with my aunt. What a day that was!! The color-coordinated craft supplies were irresistible to me, and to this day, I still get excited with the thought of having all my paper, inks, and embellishments match when I’m making a project.
Why the Stamping Ninja? Well, at the time, my husband had been inspecting my work for the better part of 15 years. He became a huge fan (love him) and claimed that I was like a crafting ninja. Though I will admit that the many years of practice have allowed me to be quite skilled when it comes to paper-crafting, I wasn’t so sure that was an appropriate analogy. After discovering that the traditional definition of a ninja was expanded to “a person who is an expert or highly skilled in a specified field or activity,” I was swayed to accept and honor the designation of being called a ninja. Alas, The Stamping Ninja was born.
When I am not crafting, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our cats, playing pickle ball, gardening, doing puzzles, and yoga.
