Happy Friday! Today, I am bringing you an unexpected color combination with the Impressions Abloom stamp bundle.
This unexpected color combination came about for the #TGIFC528 challenge that we have this week. The colors are Lemon Lime Twist, Melon Mambo, and Basic Black.
Lemon Lime Twist has got to be one of my least favorite colors to work with, but I forced myself out of my comfort zone to create with it. Don’t get me wrong, it goes great with this week’s color combination, it’s just a little too bright for me.
I decided to embrace the brightness, and create some flowers with it. Since the bright green flowers are paired with the bright Melon Mambo pink, I surrounded them with dark, contrasting, Basic Black leaves and stems.
To create a little more visual interest, I added some additional flowers that were made with some Botanical Textures DSP. The background for the flowers is a combination of the pinks and greens, curtesy of a piece of the Full of Life DSP.
Overall, it was a fun card to make, so I am happy with it. Lemon Lime Twist will not be my new favorite color to reach for, but I’ll be okay with it when it comes time to create with it again.
