Be Cool with Penguin Place

This Be Cool with Penguin Place card is the 6th in my 12 weeks of Christmas series.

The Penguin Place stamp set isn’t new this year, it was introduced last year. It’s a fun little set that I haven’t played with in a while, so I thought it was time.

I paired the set with the Layering Dioramas dies and gave the penguins a nice, icy pond to play in. The wet look of the pond is curtesy of some Clear Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool.

To make the card

• Begin with a 5 ½” x 8 ½” piece of Pool Party cardstock, score and fold at 4 ¼” to form your card base.
• Stamp the center of your card base with your Versamark pad. Quickly dust it with clear Embossing Powder, remove the excess, and set in place with your Heat Tool. This will give it a nice, shiny, wet look.

• Crop the center of a 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” piece of Basic White cardstock with the 4^th smallest die from the Layering Diorama dies using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.

• Lay the cropped piece on top of a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of Pacific Point cardstock (do not adhere).
• Place the 3^rd smallest Layering Diorama die in the center of the cut out and tape in place with some removable tape. Run the piece through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine (both pieces together).

• Stamp your sentiment in the bottom right corner of your Basic white piece using Garden Green ink.

• Sandwich the piece in the Wintry 3D embossing folder and run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. (hint- since the folder is small, you will have to do this step twice. Sandwich one of the sides first, then repeat for the other.)

• Layer and adhere the piece to the Pacific Point piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (MLG) and adhere both to the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Time to stamp the penguins

• Stamp two penguins using Tuxedo Memento black and Pumpkin Pie, four trees in Garden Green, a hat in Pacific Point, a hat and scarf in Real Red, and two feet in Pumpkin Pie ink. (hint-to get a deep black for the penguins, use your Stamparatus.) Then, punch the penguin and feet out using the Penguin Builder punch and fussy cut the rest. (fussy cut means to cut out with your Paper Snips)

• Adhere the hats, scarf, and feet to the penguins using MLG.

• Attach the penguins and trees to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

• Place random drops of Snowfall Accents Puff Paint on the card and set in place with your Heat Tool as shown.
