Black & White for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Black & White is gorgeous together, but when you add a little “pop” of color, it takes it to a whole other level.

I chose to add a little Polished Pink to the stamp set Artistically Inked. It’s one of the new 2021-2023 In Colors and adds a perfect contrast.

Artistically Inked Bundle

To make this card

  • Begin with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
  • Wrap an 8” piece of Polished Pink Open Weave ribbon around a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pattern Party designer series paper (DSP), secure the ends with adhesive, and adhere to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL.
  • Crop a piece of Basic Black cardstock with the Artistic dies leaf using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
  • Adhere the black leaf cut out to the card using Stampin’ SEAL, being sure to only apply adhesive where the large flowers will be applied. (hint- snip off the stem and tuck underneath the ribbon.

  • Punch two sets of sprigs out in Basic Black with the Sprig Punch.
  • Stamp two large flowers on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Memento black ink and two flower centers using Polished Pink ink,
  • Crop the flowers and centers out with the Artistic dies using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
  • Overlap the flowers slightly and adhere together using Stampin’ SEAL.
  • Place the flowers on the card (do not adhere yet) and adhere the black sprigs to the card underneath them being sure that they can be seen sticking out on the sides.
  • Adhere the flowers to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhere the centers to the flowers with more Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the sentiment on a 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Basic Black cardstock using Whisper White Craft ink.
  • After the ink has dried, punch the ends of the sentiment with the Banners Pick a Punch, and adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The finishing touches

  • Attach three 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to the card as shown.
  • Apply a small amount of Wink of Stella to the centers of the flowers for a little shimmer.
  • FOR AN ADDED TOUCH: Add a piece of matching 2021-2023 In Color designer series paper (DSP) to the envelope flap. Glue a 2 1/2″ x 6″ piece to the outside of the envelope and trim off the excess with your Paper Snips.
