The Delicate Dahlias Thank You Kindly card is simple, yet very striking. It is easy to make and today I am going to show you how.
I am sure that you have seen this stamp set recently, but did you know that it will be retired soon? That’s right, there are only eight days left to get this set. It is part of the Sale-A-Bration promotion and ends on September 30th.
This set, as well as many other great items, can be found in the Sale-A-Bration catalog here.
Color Combination
The bright color combination that makes this card so pretty is below.
Now, on to the card.
To make the card
- Begin with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Garden Green cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
- Open your card up and sandwich the front side in the Pretty Flowers die and run through your Stampin’ CutΒ emboss machine.
- Stamp some small dahlias and leaves in a random pattern on a 1 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock using the following colors: Calypso Coral, Garden Green, Pale Papaya, and Soft Sea Foam.
- Layer and adhere your stamped piece to a 1 3/4″ x 4″ piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock using Stampin’ SEAL.
- Adhere the layered pieceΒ to the left side of the card, being sure to leave a small border,Β using Stampin’ SEAL.
- Stamp the large dahlia on a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock using Calypso Coral ink.
Make a mask
- Make a mask of the large Dahlia. To make a mask, stamp the image on a post it note, being sure that a portion of the image is stamped where the sticky part is underneath, and cut out with your Paper Snips.
- Place the mask over the stamped dahlia and stamp some leaves (covering the dahlia slightly) using Garden Green ink.
- Remove your mask,Β adhere the piece to a 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock, and attach to the center of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp your sentiment on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Garden Green ink.
- Punch the sentiment and a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock out using the Double Oval Punch.
- Layer and adhere the ovals together and attach to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. (hint- since it overlaps the middle piece, place dimensionals under the right side and use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ SEAL under the left side.)
- Attach three Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels as shown.
