Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is Fabulous Flowers. We really hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations the Pals are sharing with you! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
How is this for a set of fabulous flowers? This gorgeous bouquet is a sneak peek of the new stamp set Happiness Abounds. I just love it!! There are eight floral images, great for coloring, and seven beautifully scripted sentiments.
The background designer series paper (DSP) and the embellishments are new items as well. The DSP is called Hues of Happiness, and the bright colors do make you happy. The embellishments are from the Glossy Dots Assortment. There are 180 dots, divided between four great colors; Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Pool Party.
All three items will be available to order on May 3rd. Now, on to making the gorgeous card.
To make the card
- Begin with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Night of Navy cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
- Adhere a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Mango Melody cardstock to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL.
- Cut a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Hues of Happiness designer series paper (DSP) and adhere to the card using Stampin’ SEAL.
- Crop a 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Vellum with the large die from the Blooming Happiness dies using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine. (hint- to crop the entire piece, you will need to run it through three different times, with the die in a different position.)
- Adhere the vellum to the card, diagonal, using Glue Dots, being sure to place them in the middle area so that they are covered by the flowers.
Time to stamp the fabulous flowers
- On a piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp the following using Tuxedo Memento black ink: six flowers, two flower bunches, two bunches of leaves, and three double leaves.
- Color all the flowers, except the one with the stem, and leaves with the following Stampin’ Blends: Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Fresh Freesia, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, and Pool Party.
- Using your Mango Melody ink pad and a Blender Pen, color the last flower, then color the stem with your Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend. Do this by Inking up the lid of your stamp pad by gently squeezing the case, or apply some ink to a clear Acrylic Block, and dip your Blender Pen in the ink. The ink will transfer to the Blender Pen tip, and you can color with it like a regular marker. The darkness of the ink can be adjusted by simply reapplying more ink to the tip. When you are done coloring, color/write with the Blender Pen, on a piece of scrap paper, until it is clear.
- Crop the flowers and the leaves with the Blooming Happiness dies using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
- Adhere all the flowers and leaves to the card, except the Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody ones, using Glue Dots.
- Stamp your sentiment on a 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ piece of Mango Melody cardstock using Night of Navy ink.
- Adhere the sentiment and the large flower to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Apply a Glue Dot and two Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the small flower and attach to the card, overlapping the sentiment strip.
- Attach three Glossy Dots to the card as shown.
FOR AN ADDED TOUCH: Add a piece of matching Hues of Happiness designer series paper (DSP) to the envelope flap. Glue a 2 1/2″ x 6″ piece to the outside of the envelope and trim off the excess with your Paper Snips.
