The Gilded Autumn Free as a Bird card is combining the best of both worlds. The Free as a Bird stamp set is from the Annual catalog and the new Gilded Autumn Designer Series Paper is from the August-December Mini catalog.
I love both of these items and really enjoy seeing them come together in one card. In addition, the chosen color palette has a nice earthy touch.
Although it looks a little complicated, it is actually pretty easy to make.
Making the Card
- Begin with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base of Crumb Cake card stock.
- Adhere the following layers on to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL; a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Very Vanilla card stock, a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 piece of Cajun Craze card stock, and a 3 3/4 x 5 1/8 piece of Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper.
- Stamp the bird image on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Tuxedo Memento black ink, and color with Cajun Craze, Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake, Mango Melody, Mint Macaron, and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.
- Crop the following using a cut & emboss machine; the bird image using the Hippo & Friends die, a piece of Mint Macrron with the 4th largest Stitched Rectangle die, some Very Vanilla card stock and some Brushed Metallic card stock (Copper) with the Forever Flourishing dies.
- Put a small amount of adhesive in the middle of the card, adhere the two Very Vanilla leaves, and attach the Mint Macaron piece over them using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Put another small amount of adhesive in the middle of the Mint Macaron card stock, adhere the two Brushed Metallic leaves, and attach the birds using Stampin’ SEAL.
- Stamp the sentiment in Versamark on a 1/2 piece of Very Vanilla card stock and heat emboss with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
- Trim the ends of the sentiment using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and adhere to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Stamp the small flower on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Tuxedo Memento black ink and color with Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends.
- Fussy cut (meaning to cut out with scissors) the flower and adhere to the sentiment using Stampin’ SEAL.
