You are going to love this Hand-Penned Jar of Flowers shaker card! It has a lot of elements to it, but the end result is beautiful.
The colors that make up this gorgeous card are:
Aren’t they just beautiful? Having a really pretty flower stamp helps too. The Hand-Penned stamp bundle makes gorgeous flowers and the dies make the cutting easy.
Of course, what makes the flowers even better? A nice mason jar to put them in.
The Mason Jar Punch and coordinating Mason Jar Shaker Domes really make it easy. They turn any bouquet of flowers into a nice 3-D dimensional shaker.
These items can be found on pages 16 & 143 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.
To make this card
- Begin with a 5 /2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Petal Pink cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
- Adhere a piece of Paper Lattice to the front of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. (hint- place the lattice upside down on your Silicone Sheet, squirt some Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the sheet, dab a sponge into the glue, and lightly tap the sponge on to the lattice. Repeat the steps until your lattice has a good coat of adhesive on it, then flip the lattice over and attach to the card.)
- Punch the bottom front of the card with the Jar Punch.
- Lay a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock inside the card (do not adhere) and draw an outline of the punched-out jar with a pencil.
- Using the pencil mark as a guide, stamp the jar on top of the outline using Smoky Slate ink and stamp the water with Balmy Blue ink using the stamp off technique. (stamp off means to ink up your stamp, stamp on a piece of scrap paper, then without re-inking your stamp, stamp your image where desired)
- Place a small amount of Sequins for Everything on top of the jar you just stamped, ensuring not to go beyond the edges.
- Remove the paper strips from the bottom of the Mason Jar Shaker Dome and place the dome on top of the jar, covering the sequins.
- Apply adhesive to the top of the Basic White piece, remove the paper strips from the top of the Mason Jar Shaker Dome, and adhere to the inside of the card, being sure that the jar fits through the jar-punched hole.
Time for the flowers
- Stamp the large flower on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Memento black ink and color with the following Stampin’ Blends: Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow, Pale Papaya, and Petal Pink.
- Stamp the blue flower on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Misty Moonlight ink. The stems are full strength, and the “flowers” are stamped using the stamp off technique.
- Crop the flowers with the Penned Flowers dies using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
- Layer and adhere the flowers together, with a few pieces of the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack mixed in and attach to the card (butted up against the top of the jar) using Stampin’ Dimensionals. (hint- you may have to trim the ends of the stems off to get a good fit)
- Cut two 7″ pieces of Simply Elegant Trim, and keeping them both together, tie a bow.
- Layer two Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals together and use them to attach the bow to the top of the jar.
