Heartfelt Cat with Lovely You GDP249

Today I am playing along with the Global Design Project team again. It is a color challenge and The Heartfelt Cat with Lovely You card is featuring the gorgeous color combination that is required.

Making a Sympathy Card

I didn’t initially set out to make a sympathy card for this challenge, but when a friend unexpectedly lost their cat, I found the color palette quite soothing.

The lace-looking background is the Square Vellum Doilies with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends. I like the look of colored vellum, so I figured why not try coloring the doilies? I think that it adds the perfect touch of softness to the card.

Coloring the doilies is a bit tedious, but the rest of the card is pretty easy to put together. The flowers are stamped in the coordinating colors required of the challenge; Misty Moonlight, Petal Pink, and Pool Party and then cut using the fussy cut method.

The labels are easy to create too! The new punch, Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, does all of the work for you. It allows you to create different sizes of labels that can be layered. It is my new favorite punch!!

One of my other favorite punches, the Cat Punch then comes into play. Using Basic Gray card stock, punch out one of these little guys and adhere to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Lastly, add a touch of personality by giving the cat a bow and creating a matching envelope.
