It’s All About Love for the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

For the Stampers Showcase Blog Hop, It’s All About Love! The Jar of Hearts card just screams love with it’s bright reds and pinks and I am excited to share it with you today.

This card does not require a stamp set, so no inky fingers here. You will, however, need a Cut & Emboss machine to make it.

Three die sets come together to make this great bouquet of heart balloons.

It may look like a lot of work, but the multi-heart die from the Be Mine Stitched dies cut a lot of little hearts at one time.

To make this All About Love card

  • Begin with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Real Red card stock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
  • Adhere a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Silver Foil paper to the card base using Stampin SEAL.
  • Sandwich a 3 3/4″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Whisper White/Basic White card stock in the Scripty embossing folder and run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
  • Punch a jar out of the embossed piece using your Jar Punch. (Be sure to leave a little space at the bottom edge)
  • Cut a 2″ x 3 1/2″ of Whisper White/Basic White card stock and adhere it to the Silver Foil piece as shown in the picture.

  • Lay the embossed piece on the card (do not adhere) and draw an outline of the jar on to the small white piece using a pencil.
  • Using your Cut & Emboss machine, crop the following: 13 balloon strings in Silver Foil from the Hippos & Friends dies, 1 Real Red, 2 Melon Mambo, and 2 Blushing Bride hearts from the Wreath Builder dies, 1 Real Red, 2 Melon Mambo, and 1 Blushing Bride, small stitched heart and a lot of small hearts from the Be Mine Stitched dies in the same colors.
  • Adhere 5 of the Silver Foil strings to the card, being sure to stay in the lines of the jar, using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. (Do not apply the adhesive to the upper portion of the strings)
  • With your Paper Snips, cut the upper portion of the Silver Foil strings that overlap the pencil line depicting the top of the jar.

It’s time to add the hearts

  • Remove the paper from the top side of a Mason Jar Dome and adhere the embossed piece over it.
  • Place a pile of small hearts on top of the Silver Foil strings. Remove the paper from the backside of the Mason Jar Dome and apply some adhesive to the surrounding embossed piece. Adhere the piece to the card, ensuring all the hearts are inside the jar.
  • Adhere a Silver Foil string to each of the bigger hearts using a Glue Dot and adhere to the card using a Stampin’ Dimensional. (Don’t worry about the length of the strings at this point, they will be overlapping the jar)

  • Repeat the process with a variety of small and medium hearts. Once all the heart balloons are attached, trim the Silver Foil strings with your Paper Snips so that they are butting up against the jar. Place a couple of Glue Dots at the edge of the jar to keep the strings in place.
  • Make a double bow out of two 10″ pieces of Playful Pets trim. Attach to the card (on top of the ends of the Silver Foil strings) using 2 Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals stacked on top of one another, and trim the ends.
  • Attach 3 Resin Hearts as shown.
