Love & Laughter With The Peony Dies

This beautiful card, titled Love & Laughter With The Peony Dies, is made with the Peony dies. Have you had a chance to create with them yet? I’m not sure why I waited so long. The dies really do make a stunning peony.

Rather than making a peony in the traditional red, pink, or purple hue, the blues are showing off today! The color palette is as follows;

Making the Card

Making this card is actually quite easy. The dies do all of the work for you.

Begin with a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base of Misty Moonlight card stock. Adhere a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Seaside Spray card stock to the base.

Next, you will want to emboss a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 piece of Very Vanilla card stock using the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder. Once it is embossed, spray it with a small amount of Champaign Shimmer Paint mixed with rubbing alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer.

I know it is hard to see in the picture, but it really does shimmer! Once it is dry, adhere it to the card.

Crop out the peonies in Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray, the leaves in Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green, and the stamen in Basic Gray. Sponge the edges of everything (except the stamen) using the corresponding ink, and assemble. Ruffle the edges a bit to give the petals some dimension.

Before adhering the flowers to the card, you will want to adhere the label to make sure there is sufficient room for them.

Cut a 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Very Vanilla and a 1 x 4 piece of Misty Moonlight card stock. Stamp your sentiment (from the Forever Fern stamp set) on the Very Vanilla piece using Basic Gray ink.

Turn those pieces into labels using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, adhere them together, and attach to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Arrange your flowers, glue the leaves to the card, and attach the peonies using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Not only do the dies make beautiful peonies, the entire suite is stunning!
