Happy Black Friday! What better way to enjoy the day than by viewing the November 2020 Paper Pumpkin Alternatives. This month’s Paper Pumpkin kit is all about the gingerbread house.
Although I did add some extra card stock and ribbon to these alternatives, the color palette remains the same.
The First Alternative
The first alternative is a slimline card. I have over-sized this slimline a bit so that the gingerbread houses would fit nicely. The overall size for this card is 4″ x 9″. It does, however, still fit in a #10 business envelope.
Since it is larger, it can handle a little more pattern too! The detailed patterns were stamped on the houses and a piece of designer series paper was added for the backdrop. The paper is a Mint Macaron piece from the Ornate Garden pack.
I couldn’t stop with just adding a little pattern though. Something was needed to tie the houses together. And, a couple of Cinnamon Cider bows do that perfectly!
The Second Alternative
The second alternative is made by repetitively stamping the gingerbread house. The stamparatus helps a lot for this. All of the houses are in a straight line because of it!
After they were stamped, I took the watercolor pencils to them. They added a nice softness and gave the houses some much needed color.
Once the houses were colored, I added some dimension. I colored a piece of Silver Metallic Edge ribbon with a Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blend and tucked it under an elevated gingerbread house.
The Last Alternative
The last alternative is a pair of tags. It is the holiday season, so who couldn’t use a couple more tags! The little gingerbread houses are on top of a 2 3/8″ x 5″ piece of Shaded Spruce card stock. To give it the tag shape, I punched one of the ends with the Scalloped Tag Topper.
I then added a piece of Cinnamon Cider ribbon, adorned with a piece of Forever Greenery Trim, to jazz them up.
Since I used additional products to make these alternatives, I am providing a list at the end of this post.
So, a bit challenging…yes! But overall, it was fun playing with these cute gingerbread houses.
