This Pampered Pets Hello to Finn card is a congratulatory adoption card. Adopting a dog is a special occasion, so what better way to say congratulations than a customized card.
Finn is a multi-colored dog, so replicate that, the Stampin’ Blends were used. Multiple colors were combined to achieve the look.
In all actuality, Finn has more white on him, but I think the rest is pretty close.
To make this card
- Begin with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2′ piece of Shaded Spruce cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/2″ to form your card base.
- Adhere a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Just Jade cardstock to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL.
- Wrap a 6” piece of Early Espresso Faux Suede ribbon around a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Regals designer series paper (DSP), secure the ends with adhesive, and adhere to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL.
- Adhere a piece of a Foam Adhesive Sheet to a scrap piece of Early Espresso cardstock.
- Crop out the spelling of your pet’s name (I used Finn) with the Playful Alphabet dies using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine and adhere to the lower portion of the card.
- Stamp the dog and the dog bowl on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Memento black ink and color with the following Stampin’ Blends: Basic Black, Cinnamon Cider, Flirty Flamingo, Gray Granite, Ivory, Shaded Spruce, and Soft Suede.
- Crop out a label in Basic White using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and stamp the sentiment in the top right corner using Tuxedo Memento black ink.
- Adhere the label, just above the ribbon, to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Using the Pets dies, crop out the dog and adhere it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
- Fussy Cut the dog bowl and adhere it to the card using Stampin’ SEAL. (fussy cut means to cut out with your Paper Snips)
- Wrap a small piece of Early Espresso Faux Suede ribbon through the ribbon on the card, tie a knot, and trim the ends.
- Attach five Playing with Patterns Resin Dots as shown.

Good morning Melissa,
I really like this card. I know how difficult it can be to get that perfect blend of colors for our best Friends. I did it once when I made a card for that had her two pets on the front…one a dog and the other a cat. I’ll try to find the picture of it and send to you. Have a great weekend. I really enjoy getting your newsletter and card ideas.
Peggy
Thank you Peggy for the kind words. It is quite hard to capture the realness of the animal fur, as you know. I would love to see the card you made, so please do send it to me.:-)
Cute card, but equally as cute, sweet Finn.
Thank you so much Janelle. I will pass that along to his owner.:-)
