Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Pile It On” – showcasing their card/project with layers of DSP and/or embellishments for any occasion. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
Who doesn’t love building a snowman? This little guy is very festive and happens to look great on a pile of designer series paper. He also pairs very well with the greens and reds in the Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper.
Time to pile it on!
- Begin with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
- Adhere a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Mossy Meadow card stock to the card base.
- Wrap a 7″ piece of Real Red Braided Linen Trim around a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper (DSP) and adhere to the card.
- Stamp the snowman and the sentiment on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Tuxedo Memento black ink and color with Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie, and Real Red Stampin’ Blends.
- Using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine crop one each of the following with the Layering Squares dies; the snowman with the 3rd largest square scallop, the sentiment with the 7th largest square scallop, some Mossy Meadow card stock with the 2nd largest and the 6th largest square scallops, some Pear Pizzazz card stock with the largest and the 5th largest squares, a piece of red dsp with the 2nd largest square, and a piece of the green and red dsp with the 6th largest square. (here is a pic of the dsp patterns that are used)
- Layer and adhere the four larger pieces together and the four smaller pieces together.
- Using the smaller 4-piece rectangles from the Stitched Rectangle dies, crop a piece of green dsp with the 3rd largest rectangle, a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock with the 2nd largest, and a piece of Pear Pizzazz with the largest die.
- Using the largest and the 2nd largest dies again, crop the Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz rectangles that you just cut again to make them a little smaller. To do this, take the Mossy Meadow rectangle and lay the 2nd largest die on it overlapping the bottom edge a little and run it through the machine. Then, do the same thing on one of the sides.
- Repeat this process for the Pear Pizzazz layer, then adhere the three rectangles together and attach them to the card.
- Apply dimensionals to the back of the snowman layers and adhere to the card, being sure to overlap it on top of the rectangles layers.
- Using your dimensionals again, apply two dimensionals layered on top of one another to the backside of the sentiment layers and adhere to the card, being sure to overlap it on top of the snowman layers.
- Tie a small bow, attach it to the card using a glue dot, and add three Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels as shown.
