Playful Pets Kitty Congrats Card

Today’s project, Playful Pets Kitty Congrats Card is another example of how you don’t always need a stamp set. This card is made using the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper, and couldn’t be easier.

Playful Pets Kitty Congrats Card

When someone near and dear to me adopted a couple of cats, I just had to make a card. My only problem though, is that I do not have the new Pampered Pets stamp set yet.

I don’t think that I am the only one who has found themselves in this predicament. How often have you wanted to make a specific card, but didn’t have the stamp? Well, follow along to see how this cute card can be made using only the designer series paper (DSP).

The Playful Pets DSP is really cute. If you are a dog or cat fan, this entire suite is for you.

The primary colors from this set are red and black, but since the cheeks on the cats are pink, Flirty Flamingo becomes the primary color. The other colors include;

Making the Card

Begin by fussy cutting (meaning to cut out with scissors) the two cats from the designer series paper.

Crop three layering circles and scallops in Flirty Flamingo, Crumb Cake, and Basic Black using the layering circles dies.

Adhere a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock to a card base of Basic Black.

Color a 8″ piece of 1/2″ Whisper White Faux Linen Ribbon with the Flirty Flamingo Dark Stampin’ Blends, wrap around a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 piece of Playful Pets Designer Series Paper, and adhere to the card.

Adhere your layering circles/scallops together, with the cat on top, and attach to the card (use Stampin’ Dimensionals for the circle on the right).

Stamp the sentiment on a 1/2 x 3 piece of Basic Black card stock with Whisper White ink, trim with the Banner Triple Punch, and adhere using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Crop three small hearts in Flirty Flamingo using the Well Written dies and adhere with the Fine-Tip glue as shown.

Tie a small bow from the Black/White Baker’s Twine and attach using a glue dot.
