I have a Seaside Wishes Meets Sea Turtle card for you today for Tic Tac Toe Challenge #254.
Here is the Tic Tac Toe Challenge that I am playing along with today. I’m using the bottom row; Beach, Dies, and Blue.
I can’t seem to get enough of the Seaside Wishes bundle lately, so I just had to make another card with it. This time, I have combined it with the Sea Turtle stamp set. They both go together so nicely, like peanut butter and jelly!
Normally, this is the part of my post where I post the instructions to make the card, with lots of pictures, but not this time. Would you believe that I forgot to take photos as I was making it? It was simply one of those days where I was just enjoying the process of crafting.
Having said that, I can still tell you how I made it, you just won’t have the visual steps. I’m sure that we have all made a card that we have seen without the step by step instructions though, am I right?
To make the card
So, this is what I did. I knew right away that I wanted to to have nice, rich colors for the starfish and the turtle, so I went with Calypso Coral and Lost Lagoon, with Basic Beige as my soft neutral.
The first thing that I did was make a background of sand dollars. This was done by heat embossing Versamark ink and clear embossing powder on a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic Beige. I then wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around it twice, tied a bow, and adhered it to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Calypso Coral. Both were then adhered to a card base of Lost Lagoon.
A 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ piece of Country Woods DSP sits under the sentiment, giving it a boardwalk look. The sentiment itself is just a portion of one of the stamps and it is in Pebbled Path ink.
Next, I worked on the the images.
The starfish consist of Calypso Coral cardstock and Cajun Craze ink. I stamped off then used my Stampin’ Spritzer on them before stamping. For the turtle, I used the baby wipe technique. I added drops of Cajun Craze, Lost Lagoon, and Pretty Peacock to the baby wipe, then used it as my stamp pad.
For the sea sponge, I used my blending brush to put some Balmy Blue ink on a piece of white glimmer paper before die cutting it. Here’s a tip for that; to get the glitter off of your ink pad, use a paper style lint roller. It takes it right off and your pad looks like new!
Once all the images were added, I placed three Flat Pearls on the card to tie it all together.
Pretty easy right? Sometimes the pictures aren’t really needed after all. If however, you have any questions as your are trying to replicate it, feel free to contact me. I will be happy to help you with it.
I would love to know what you think about my Seaside Wishes Meets Sea Turtle card. Please leave me a comment below.
