Using the Sophisticated Sled Bundle for #TGIFC496 Inspiration Challenge

Happy Friday! Today is another TGIF Inspiration Challenge, and I am using the Sophisticated Sled bundle.

This week’s inspiration challenge has so many options in it to use. The black portion actually looks like fur up close, there’s gold elements, and lots of layers. It’s such a great photo, because it is bound to be interpreted differently from so many people.

I chose to pick the main colors out of it. I have combined Basic Black and White, Berry Burst, Petunia Pop, and some Gold Foil.

Since I hadn’t yet played with the Sophisticated Sled bundle, I figured it was time. It’s an online exclusive and consists of 11 photopolymer stamps, with eleven coordinating dies.

The colors aren’t traditional for a sled scene, but I am happy with the result.

To make the card

  • Begin with a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of Basic White Thick cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4” to form your card base.
  • On a 3 3/4” x 5” piece of Basic Black cardstock, stamp some random snowflakes down the right side using Versamark ink. Quickly dust it with some White embossing powder, tap off the excess, and set in please with your Heat Tool.

  • Sandwich the Basic Black piece in the Snowflake Sky embossing folder and run through your Cut & Emboss machine.
  • Adhere the piece to a 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” piece of Berry Burst cardstock, and adhere both to the card base.

  • Snip the left side, diagonally, of a 1/2” x 3 5/8” piece of Basic White, a 1/2” x 3 3/8” piece of Petunia Pop, and a 1/2” x 3 1/4” piece of Berry Burst cardstock.
  • Stamp your sentiment on the right side of the Berry Burst piece using Versamark ink. Quickly dust it with white embossing powder, tap off the excess, and set in place with your Heat Tool.
  • Adhere the 1/2” strips to the front of the card with the Basic White on the bottom and the sentiment on top.
  • Stamp your flowers on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Memento black ink.
  • Color the image with Berry Burst, Old Olive, and Petunia Pop (L) Stampin’ Blends.
  • Crop your image, as well as the following, with the Sophisticated Sled dies; a sled background in Gold Foil, a sled base, and a sled wood in Basic White cardstock.
