Wish Big with Hot Air Balloon

Happy Thursday! Today we are going to be Wishing Big with the Hot Air Balloon bundle.

Wish Big with Hot Air Balloon - main photo

I have had the Hot Air Balloon suite for some time, so I thought I better start using it. I’m really not sure why I waited either, it is a lot of fun! I especially love the Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots. They remind me of the old embellishments (candy dots) that Stampin’ Up! used to carry, the kind that matched every color collection.

The entire Hot Air Balloon suite is geared towards the colors in the Rainbow Dots too. The paper, the twine, you name it.

To make the card

  • Begin with a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of Bubble Bath cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4” to form your card base.
  • Adhere a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock to the card base.
  • Cut a piece of the striped Lighter Than Air DSP to include 11 stripes and attach it to another piece of DSP measuring 3 7/8” x 5 1/8”. Flip the DSP over, trim the excess off with your Paper Snips, and adhere it to the card.
  • Crop a piece of Basic White cardstock with the largest rectangle from the Everyday Details dies. Stamp your sentiment on the rectangle with Lost Lagoon ink, and attach it to the card using Stamping’ Dimensionals.
  • Color a piece of Basic White cardstock with your Light Pool Party Stampin’ Blend. Crop three clouds out of the paper with the Hot Air Balloon dies, attach one to the rectangle with adhesive and the other two with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Time to stamp

  • Stamp the two balloons and baskets on a piece of Basic White cardstock using the following inks; Crumb Cake, Fresh Freesia, and Petal Pink. Color the white space on the smaller balloon with your Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend.
  • Crop the images, and a piece of Fresh Freesia cardstock with the Hot Air Balloon dies, adhere the detailed piece and the baskets to the corresponding balloons, and attach them to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Tie a small bow form the Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack and attach it to the card with a Mini Glue Dot.
  • Attach three Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots as shown.
