Pals blog hop badge

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is Orange Theory. We hope to inspire you with our creations using the color orange today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Fall typically makes me think of the color orange. The leaves change to the color orange, there’s Halloween, and of course, there’s pumpkin pie!

It’s my favorite season of the year, and not just because of pumpkin pie. I’m really drawn to the earth tone colors and love being immersed in them. Of course, the cooler weather is always warranted when you live in the desert too!

To try to capture the fall essence, I combined the stamp bundle More Than Autumn with the Autumn Leaves stamp set and dies. They make a perfect duo!

To make the card

  • Begin with a 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” piece of Pecan Pie cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4” to form your card base.
  • Layer and adhere a 3 7/8” x 5 1/8” piece of Basic White cardstock to a 4” x 5 1/4” piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and adhere to the card base.
  • Adhere a 2 1/2” x 4” piece of Iconic Celebrations DSP to the middle of the card. Then adhere a 2” x 3 1/2” piece of Sweet Days of Autumn DSP on top.

Time to stamp

  • On a piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp one large maple leaf, one small leaf, and two sets of leaves. For the maple leaf, ink up your stamp in Daffodil Delight, then dab some Pumpkin Pie in the middle, and some Copper Clay on the outside of the stamp with some Sponge Daubers, and stamp. Next, ink up the smaller leaf with Pumpkin Pie ink, then dab some Cherry Cobbler ink on the outside and stamp. Lastly, ink up the leaves with Mossy Meadow ink, dab some Pecan Pie ink on them with your Sponge Dauber and stamp. Repeat for two sets of leaves.
  • Crop the images, and two leaves in the Splendid Autumn DSP, with the Autumn Days dies.
  • Using the Stylish Shapes dies, crop a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock with the second smallest circle.
  • Stamp a pumpkin pie image on a piece of Basic White cardstock using Memento black ink. Color the image with your Pumpkin Pie and Medium ( SU 500 & 600) Stampin’ Blends. Then, color the pie crust again with the Light ( SU 900) Stampin’ Blend to lighten it.
  • Stamp your sentiment on a 1/2″ x 7/8″ and 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock using Pecan Pie ink.
  • Crop the pie, and your sentiment with a piece of Pecan Pie cardstock, with the More Than Autumn dies.

  • Adhere the leaves to the back of the circle and attach it to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Adhere the stamped sentiments to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then, adhere the word “season” to a 3/4″ x 2 1/8″ piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and attach it, and the pumpkin pie image, to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
