Prized Peony Just Because for the PALS Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “Gifts From the Garden.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Prized Peony Just Because for the PALS Blog Hop

Today I am showcasing one of my favorite flowers from the garden; the Peony. My grandmother used to have them in her yard, so the flower brings back great childhood memories for me.

The peonies that my grandmother had were light pink, but for this card, I felt more bold colors were in order. These bold colors look great grouped together, so what better way to display them than in a bouquet.

For this bouquet, you will want to start by making a template to make sure that it will fit on your card.

First, though, the base of the card needs to be done. Emboss a 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 piece of Petal Pink card stock with Dainty Diamonds and spray it with a little Champaign Mist Shimmer Paint. Once it is dry, adhere it to a 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Whisper White card stock and then on to a Terracotta Tile card base.

Once that is done, it is time for the template. Stamp the flower stems on a 4 x 5 piece of Whisper White card stock. Stack one set on top of the other near the bottom and color them with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. Cut the top half of the card stock in a circular shape to use as a base for the flowers to go on (there is no particular size, just make sure that it will fit on your card), and fussy cut the stems out.

Now it is time to add your flowers. Stamp six small posies and color them with Calypso Coral, Granny Apple Green, Petal Pink, and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends. Cut them out with the Peony dies and adhere to the template.

The next step is your sentiment. Stamp your sentiment on a 1/2 piece of Whisper White card stock and punch the ends with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. Punch the ends of a 3/4 piece of Terracotta Tile card stock to layer underneath and attach to the card.

The last step to finish this card, is to add the details. Wrap a small piece of Terracotta Tile ribbon around the stems using a couple of glue dots to secure it on the back. Adhere your bouquet to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then add your Gold Metallic Pearls as shown.

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop, which will be August 12th when our theme is “My Happiest Season.” The Design Team will showcase projects inspired by their favorite seasonal time of the year. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.
