Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Sentiment as a focal point.” We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

The sentiment that I chose as my focal point is from the stamp set Welcoming Woods. The woods can be made to fit any season and each season really does bring it’s own wonder.

Since fall is right around the corner, the leaves will be turning, bringing it’s own wonder. Therefore, I think that the sentiment describes this card beautifully.

To make the card

  • Begin by cutting a piece of Basic White cardstock to measure 4″ x 5 1/4″.
  • Using your Blending Brushes, create a sunset background with the following ink pad colors: Balmy Blue, Evening Evergreen, Night of Navy, Pale Papaya, Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Soft Suede.
  • Place your sunset background in the middle of your Stamparatus and stamp a set of trees using Soft Suede ink. (hint- use your top plate of the Stamparatus rather than the side plate, so that you can move the trees to the left and right)
  • Reposition the Stamparatus plate to the right, so that the tree stamp lines up with the trees already stamped, and stamp again using Soft Suede ink.

  • Position your Stamparatus plate back to the home position and carefully slide your background image over to the right, making sure that it is at the same height that you stamped on previously. Stamp the trees again using Soft Suede ink.

  • Repeat the same process (steps 3-5) using the tree shadow stamp. (hint- when stamping with the shadow stamp, be sure to not ink up the very ends of it. There will be a slight overlap on the trees, and you don’t want to get ink on the trees.)
  • Stamp some random leaves on top of the trees using Cinnamon Cider ink.

  • Cut a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock, score and fold at 4 1/4″ to form your card base.
  • Adhere the tree image to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL.

Time for the details

  • Crop a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with the largest diorama die from the Layering Diorama dies using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.

  • Sandwich your cut diorama piece in the Timber embossing folder and run through your Stampin Cut & Emboss machine.
  • Apply some Foam Adhesive Strips to the back of the diorama piece and carefully attach to the card.
  • Punch one end of a 7/8″ x 2 15/16″ piece of Basic White cardstock and a 1″ x 3″ piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock using the Banners Pick a Punch.
  • Carefully stamp your sentiment on the Basic White label using Soft Suede ink and adhere to the Cinnamon Cider label using Stampin’ SEAL.

  • Color a 5″ piece of Flowers For Every Season ribbon with your dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend and trim to measure 3 3/8″.

  • Adhere the ribbon to the bottom of the labels using Stampin’ SEAL, ensuring that the right side is flush with the end.

  • Attach the label to the front of the card using a double stack of Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine again, crop out two leaves in Bumblebee and two leaves in Cinnamon Cider cardstock with the Intricate Leaves dies.
  • Adhere the leaves to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. (hint- apply the glue using your Silicone Craft Sheet, and a sponge.)
  • Attach two Elegant Faceted Gems as shown.
