Thinking of You With a Touch of Ink

Sometimes we need a card to let someone know that we are thinking of them. Today’s card, Thinking of You With a Touch of Ink is just that. It’s non-descript, so you can use it as a birthday, sympathy, or just an every-day card.

Thinking of You With a Touch of Ink

This hummingbird is from the Touch of Ink stamp set. It is a new set that is being offered in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. Make a $100 purchase, and you get this stamp set FREE.

I really enjoy watching and feeding hummingbirds. They really like bright red flowers, so the Tasteful Touches flower works quite nicely in Poppy Parade.

To make this card

  • Begin with a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Basic White Thick card stock, score and fold at 5 1/2″ to form your card base.
  • Adhere a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock to the card base using Stampin’ SEAL.
  • Cut a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of Basic White card stock, flick some Pear Pizzazz ink on to it using your Water Painters, and stamp the sentiment in the bottom corner using Tuxedo Memento black ink.

  • Sandwich the Basic White piece into the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and run it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
  • Rough up the edges of your embossed piece using your Bone Folder and adhere to the card using Stampin’ SEAL.
  • Stamp the flower and the hummingbird on to a piece of Basic White card stock. Color the flower with Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends and color the hummer using the following Blends: Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Gray Granite, Poppy Parade, Purple Posy, and Soft Suede.
  • Fussy cut the flower and the hummingbird out. (fussy cut means to cut out with your Paper Snips)
  • Crop a couple of leaf sprays in Pear Pizzazz card stock with the Forever Flourishing dies using your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine.
  • Adhere the flower sprays to the card using Stampin’ SEAL and attach the flower on top using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Place some Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals under the hummingbird and attach to the card.
  • Adhere 3 Rhinestone Basic Jewels as shown.
  • FOR AN ADDED TOUCH: Add a piece of matching Forever Greenery designer series paper (DSP) to the envelope flap. Glue a 2 1/2″ x 6″ piece to the outside of the envelope and trim off the excess with your Paper Snips.

  2. This is so pretty. I adore hummingbirds. What a great idea to distress the edges of the embossed CS. Adds an interesting visual.
