Welcome to the Pals Fun Folds Blog Hop! I have a great Hello Ladybug Tri-Shutter card for you today.
I just love this cute little ladybug and it works beautifully for this type of card fold. Having three separate panels gives you plenty of room for multiple ladybugs. Of course, if you are looking for a card with less ladybugs, you can find that here with another card I made previously with the set.
You can find the Hello Ladybug stamp bundle on page 20 of the Jan-Jun 2022 Mini Catalog.
To make the card
- Begin with a 12″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Magenta Madness cardstock.
- Place your cardstock into your Paper Trimmer widthwise and score at 4″ and 8″ from top to bottom. Move your cardstock to the 2″ mark and score from the top to the 1″ mark and at the 4 1/2″ mark to the bottom. Move your cardstock to the 10″ mark and score from the top to the 1″ mark and at the 4 1/2″ mark to the bottom.
- Rotate your cardstock 90 degrees (lengthwise) and place at the 1″ mark. Cut your cardstock from the 2″ mark to the 10″ mark. Move your cardstock to the 4 1/2″ mark and repeat the cut from the 2″ mark to the 10″.
- Fold your cardstock as shown below and burnish your folds with your Bone Folder.
- Place two 3 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ pieces of Sunshine & Rainbows designer series paper (DSP) together and place them in your Paper Trimmer vertically at the 1 3/4″ mark. Cut from the top to the 1″ mark and at 4 1/4″ to the bottom.
- Rotate your DSP 90 degrees to the right and place at the 1″ mark. Cut from the 1 3/4″ mark to the bottom. Move your DSP to the 4 1/4″ mark and cut from the 1 3/4″ mark to the bottom. (hint- placing the two pieces of DSP together to cut at the same time will save a little time and ensure that your pieces are identical.)
- Adhere the two pieces of DSP to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. (hint- the Multipurpose Liquid Glue will give you a little wiggle room to position your pieces before they dry.)
- Cut the following sizes in your leftover Sunshine & Rainbows DSP: two pieces measuring 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and four pieces measuring 3/4″ x 1 3/4″.
- Adhere the six small pieces of DSP to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Time to stamp
- Using your Stamparatus, stamp your sentiment and a ladybug on a 3 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Memento black and Magenta Madness ink.
- Adhere the Basic White piece to the middle of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Stamp the following on a piece of Basic White cardstock using your Stamparatus: two ladybug wings with Tuxedo Memento black and Magenta Madness, four ladybug bodies with Tuxedo Memento black, six daisies with So Saffron, six small flowers with Mango Melody, and four leaves using Granny Apple Green ink.
- Place a piece of 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum into your Stamparatus and stamp two ladybug wings (dots) using Stazon black ink.
- Punch the ladybugs and their wings with the Ladybug Builder punch, punch the daisies with the Medium Daisy punch, and adhere them together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. (hint- to prevent the glue from showing through the vellum wings, place a Glue Dot behind the black dots as they will be hidden perfectly.)
- Fussy cut your leaves and your small flowers. (fussy cut means to cut out with your Paper Snips) (hint- if you don’t feel like fussy cutting, the Strawberry Builder punch will cut one of the flowers out pretty well. It’s not perfect, but I found it close enough.)
- Adhere the leaves and flowers to the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the four ladybugs to the card.
- Attach an Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewel to the center of each flower as shown.
